Christmas 2009

'Twas the Monday before Christmas when I went to Grammy and Grampa's house.

I rode on a bike that was a giraffe, not a mouse.

I had lots of fun during the days and slept well at night.

Soon I came home to celebrate Christmas Eve night.

We went to church, then to visit my Grandma's.

Later we came home and I opened a present - pajamas!

I helped Mommy with the cookies she wanted to bake.

Then put them out for Santa to take.

While I slept at night, that big red guy came.

He really lived up to all of his fame.

Soon the sun came up and I was ready to go.

I was so surprised and I yelled out, "Whoa!"

A kitchen, a car, a baby doll, and Tag, Jr. that reads to me.

Some books, Elmo, and play-doh all left under the tree.

I oohed, I aahed, and squealed with delight.

Toys to the left, and toys to the right!

I took my time and tried to play with each one.

I climbed in my car and tried to bring with me all the fun.

I worked in my kitchen to cook some good food.

I wore my chef's apron and hat. Don't I look ... good?

A hat for a chef? Or a pilgrim child?

Well I guess it is just really versatile.

I played and I played as the morning went by.

I even worked on my computer from a favorite show - Super Why!

Later that morning my grandparents came to see,

All of the fun that was left under my tree.

After a while it was time to go in the car,

To Honey and Pop's house ... it wasn't too far.

We ate lunch and then I got even more new toys.

Then I played with my shopping cart, ate pretend food, tried on clothes and made lots of noise.

Honey and Pop gave me a new tricycle, shiny and bright.

I got on to try it out but my face showed my fright.

Soon I went home to play some more.

I showed my new toys to each person as they walked in the door.

On Saturday we got up early to go to Locust Grove,

to see lots of family whom I really do love. :)

We ate lunch, opened presents, and played lots of games.

This family really is as fun as everyone claims!

Later I played dress up with Kerry's new rockstar dress and wig.

I held up the microphone, sang, and did a little jig.

We played outside even though it was cold.

We love to play football in the middle of the road.

I didn't play football, I just drove my car up and back.

Don't worry, I didn't go far ... I stayed in the cul-de-sac.

On Sunday, the Duncan family came over to have waffles and open presents again.

I got to spend time with Grammy, Grampa, Thomas, Mama Thelma, Matthew, and Katherine.

Daddy and Matthew got busy with a toy to build.

It was a station to take care of my babies (about which I was thrilled)!

What do you do when all the presents are gone?

You play in a box from which a present was withdrawn!

Aunt Katherine and I played in a box (with my baby of course!)

Who knew that an empty box could be such an excitement-source!

I've told all that I have to tell about my Christmas week.

I hope that you don't think from my poem I am a geek...

And so I yell, as I drive out of here,

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Happy New Year!!!"

Back to Thanksgiving

I know this is out of order, and a little late, but here are some pictures from my Thanksgiving week. We went to Augusta for a few days, had Thanksgiving at my great uncle Chuck's house on Thursday, then the Duncan Thanksgiving was on Saturday at Grammy and Grampa's house, and spent time at Honey and Pop's house on Sunday. I had lots of fun family time, and the week went by WAY too fast!

Before we left to go to Augusta, Mommy and I pulled out the Christmas stuff to decorate before Daddy came home from work. We wanted to surprise him! He didn't believe that Mommy and I got the tree upstairs all by ourselves, but we (and by we, I mean mostly Mommy) did!

On Thursday I went to Uncle Chuck's house.

I spent a lot of time playing "Horses" with the other little girls.

Nobody was looking, and I wanted some more goldfish in my little cup, so I decided to just go for it.

And this was the result. Oops! :)

This is Dionn's baby, Averi, and she was born just 2 weeks before this picture was taken.

I spent a lot of time chasing a cat around the house. He kept running away from me!

I found this other cat outside, but I still couldn't get to it, because the hot tub was just way too tall!

Back at Grammy and Grampa's house on Friday, I enjoyed dancing while Mama Thelma played the organ.

On Saturday, the rest of the family came to join us in Augusta, and I spent time exploring and playing in the yard with the cousins and aunts and uncles.

Kerry and I played together and we both did a pretty good job of sharing. Don't believe me? Look at the picture! Both playing with the same toy at the same time!!!

Sunday, we went to Honey and Pop's house. We decorated cookies. They were very artistic and we had so much fun!

This is not from Thanksgiving, but it is another picture that was trapped in Mommy's camera with the dead battery. Before we went on the Santa Express on Saturday, we met Mrs. Clause at the train station. I was a little unsure of the whole thing, but I did like that little train.

I had so much fun today! We drove up to Blue Ridge, GA to ride on a "choo-choo" and you will never guess who got on that train with us!

Here are some pictures from my super-fun day. Mommy apologizes because she let the battery die on her camera, so all of these pictures are from her phone. Pop got some better pictures for sure (with a real camera even!), so I will have to share them with you when I can.

Did you guess it? Santa got on that train and even came to talk to me! I did NOT sit in his lap. I stayed with Mommy, which is why I have no other pictures of Santa to post here. Hopefully Pop has a good Santa picture for me to share with you later!

We sang Christmas carols ... well, not me ... I didn't know the words, so I just danced while everyone else sang.
