12 Months Old

On my birthday!

With the party and all the important birthday 'stuff' going on the past couple of weeks I did not ever post my 12 month update!  So, here ya go ... just a little bit late!

I went to the doctor the day after my birthday.  I weigh 24 pounds, 11 ounces (93rd percentile), I am 30.25 inches tall (86th percentile) and my head circumference was in the 85th percentile.  The nurses commented that I was "so proportionate!"  I got 3 shots, and didn't even cry at all until halfway through the second one.  I pouted for a second, then sat up and said, "Hi!"  Mommy was a little worried for a second that I didn't seem to feel the shots, but she got over it because she was happy that I wasn't screaming.

Talking:
This month I seem to have stopped saying a lot of the words I was saying before.  Here are some words I haven't said in a  while:
"He-wo!"  Instead I just say, "Hi!" (to everyone ... while waving like a beauty queen)
"Dahg" (dog)
"shirt" (thank goodness - no more getting in trouble for bad words at school.)

I have started saying some new words this month:
"Uh-oh"
"Mama" (I have said this before, but not much ... usually "Daddy" goes for any parental figure).
"Baby"
(There are more, but I can't think of them right now.)

I still say:
"Daddy" "Maggie" "Katie" (all of which sound very similar ... you have to listen very carefully, or you will think I am just saying "Daddy" for all of these.)
"Mmm-mm-mmm."
"Woah!"
"Shoe."

I talk and babble with more expression, and I have started shaking my head "no."  I have also started shrieking LOUDLY for no reason at all.  I think this is super fun, especially because Mommy and Daddy seem to think it isn't so much fun.

I have started blowing kisses this month.  Whenever anyone says, "bye-bye," I start blowing them kisses.  Even the old guys at Home Depot.  Daddy said we would have to have a talk about this one...

I have also started making an angry face.  My friend Walker taught me this.  Mommy laughs at it though ... she says it's a poor attempt at angry.
An example of my angry face (might be more effective if I wasn't smiling, huh?)

Playing:
I have played mostly with baby dolls this month.  I love to take care of my babies (plus also Elmo).  I change their diapers, feed them bottles, put them in the booster chair, and rock them to sleep.  I still talk on the phone a lot too, but this month's theme is definitely taking care of babies.
Getting Elmo in his chair for a snack.

Taking care of baby.

One of my other favorite games this month has been to find my belly button.  I even love to look for Mommy's belly button, and blow on her tummy like all those silly grown ups do to me.
Where's my belly button!?

I also LOVE to play the piano.  I will crawl/cruise over to it several times a day, just to play a little tune.  It's so much fun!!

Walking:
I am still trying to get the hang of this walking thing.  On my birthday (March 11) I took three steps.  I did it only because Mommy and Daddy kept begging me to.  After that, I was done and now I think it's much more fun to just stand up and dive toward wherever I'm headed.  I can move around the entire house and go wherever I want to go by cruising along the furniture or scaling the walls, so what's the point!?

Ok, enough for now.  More later!  Bye!

Party!!!

Today we had my FIRST birthday party!  It was so much fun.  I opened presents, ate chicken nuggets and cake, and entertained everyone!  Here are some pictures from my party:

Eating cake ... I didn't really like getting my hands all messy.

Here are the decorations.
We used all the art work I have done during my first year to decorate!

I had fun opening presents and trying on all my new clothes!
Thank you everyone for the awesome gifts!

Concentrating hard on opening presents.

The cakes.  So yummy!

Birthday parties are fun, but exhausting!
I snuggled up with Daddy and Dressy Bessy to rest a little.

I can't wait until my next birthday!!!
Thank you everyone for coming to help me celebrate!
(We missed you Aunt Bess and Mama Thelma!)

Sunday - Park (finally)!

So, we finally made it to the park on Sunday after church.  No traffic at all this time!  The weather was perfect, and I had so much fun (as usual).  I even got to ride in my wagon around the entire park!

I had so much fun swinging (as usual).

I was exhausted from all the fun I had.  I fell asleep within 20 seconds of getting back in the car!
I love the park!!!

And now, for your listening pleasure:

Fun Saturday

Today was a fun day.  Aunt Katherine came to play with me this morning while Mommy and Daddy went to run some important errands.  She went to eat lunch with us, then she went home and we went to the outlet stores in Calhoun.  Mommy and Daddy bought me lots of clothes for my birthday!  We were going to go to the park afterwards, but that plan was ruined when we got stuck in traffic on I-75.  All lanes were blocked for almost 2 hours.  People started getting out of their cars and talking to their new friends in the cars around them.  We saw people get on their bikes and ride past us.  We saw people walking their dogs on the interstate.  We even saw people park their cars and walk a mile up the road, leaving their cars parked in the middle of the road.

So, here is what we did today instead of playing at the park:

Standing in the middle of I-75.

The millions of cars behind us (there were about this many in front of us, too).

Playing in the car after an hour of sitting in the same place.

Daddy decided to let me drive for a while :)

He was a little scared!

Then tonight we went to Toys R Us to pick out my birthday present.  I got a balloon and a birthday crown to wear while we shopped!  And thus begins my birthday week!!!

We Made a Snowman!

Well, we had a little bit of snow.  Not as much as we would have liked, but snow is snow, right?!  And, I have never seen snow before, so I had fun!

We decided to make a snowman - "Augusta-style."  Mommy said they never had enough snow in Augusta to make snowmen, so they always had to use the car-snow to make one!

I had fun helping Mommy with the snowman.

We moved him from the car to a more comfortable location.  Uga puppy enjoyed having some company on his step!

Posing with the snowman!
