Luke's Update

(Luke - ONE DAY OLD)

Luke has been growing so much. This post is all about his growth during his first three months!

When Luke was born he was 7 lbs, 15 oz. He was 19 inches tall.

At his ONE WEEK appointment, Luke was 8 lbs (42nd percentile) and 20 inches long (43rd percentile), and his head was 14 inches (32nd percentile).

When he was two weeks old, we went back for another check up. Luke was 9.3 lbs (64th percentile) and 21.5 inches tall (79th percentile). His head was 14.5 inches (31st percentile).

Then we went back to the doctor when he was ONE MONTH old, and then again when he was TWO MONTHS old. Here are some pictures and stats from the past three months.

ONE MONTH OLD:
Weight: 12 lb, 9 oz (97th percentile)
Length: 22 inches (61st percentile)
Head circumference: 15.25 inches (57th percentile)

Colleen came over to our house and took some newborn photos for us!

Luke celebrated his first Easter.

He slept a lot.

Mommy likes these pictures, because it looks like he's thinking.
Then, suddenly comes up with a great idea!
And he's happy about it!
(Luke learned how to smile just before he was one month old.)

TWO MONTHS OLD:
Weight: 15 lbs (98th percentile)
Length: 23.25 inches (63rd percentile)
Head circumference: 16 inches (67th percentile)

Luke's 2 month photo:

Luke enjoyed his first visit to the beach. (Thanks Grammy and Grampa!)

He continued to fall asleep every single time Mommy put him down for tummy time.

He slept through a visit to the zoo.

He got cuter and cuter!

Almost THREE MONTHS OLD:
(Luke does not have a 3 month doctor appointment. He won't go back until he is four months old. BUT, he weight almost 17 pounds according to our bathroom scale, and he wears 6/9 month clothes!)

During this month, Luke learned how to laugh. His first laugh was for Grampa, but Mommy and Daddy heard it the next day on May 25th!

Luke's 3 month picture:

He practiced sitting in his (my old purple) Bumbo seat.

He still loves sleeping!

What?! An awake tummy time?!?
Sleeping again!

Luke got too heavy to be carried in his infant carrier, so he got moved to the big carseat. I think he likes it pretty well!

He enjoyed his first movie at the park ... and we all stayed up way too late!
So, in summary: In Luke's first three months, he has learned to smile, celebrated Easter, traveled to Augusta and Hilton Head Island, slept a lot, practiced holding up his head, visited the zoo, gone to the UGA spring football game, seen a play (that Aunt Bess directed), gone to a baseball game (where Uncle Matthew was the coach), visited Mommy's class at school, watched a movie and a dance recital (all on the same day), learned to laugh, and much more! He has been a busy boy, and he has so much more to learn and do as he continues to grow!

Remember this?

Remember this picture?
Where's baby Katie?

Now it's Luke's turn!
Where's Luke?

Some Pictures from March

I love my baby brother!
We have been very busy this month since Luke was born!
Here are some pictures from this month ...

Luke and me on St. Patrick's Day
(Mommy says this is the best picture of the two of us so far).

This was our first family picture (taken in the hospital).

I love to hold my brother!

Here are some funny baby faces:
(yawning)

(almost smiling!)

(deep in thought)

(ooohhh!)

Some sleeping baby pictures:

One day Mommy told me to go upstairs and find a clean shirt to put on. This is what I came downstairs wearing:
(and this is my model pose)

I love this picture of Grammy, Luke, and me!

This was Luke's first walk around the neighborhood! I had fun helping Mommy push the stroller down the street!

Luke's first "Tummy Time."
He likes to go straight to sleep whenever he's placed on his tummy for tummy time! Not really the point of tummy time, Luke!!!

A kiss for Luke during floor play time!

What kind of big sister would I be if I did not join Luke for some Tummy Time? I was trying to show him how to do it!

I helped Mommy and Daddy give Luke his first bath!
He really loved the warm bath.

I insisted that we had to take pictures during my bath time, too!

I love my brother!

(He's holding my finger. So sweet!)

Last Saturday I had my Ballet recital pictures.
I had to curl my hair and get all dressed up for the pictures.
I felt like a beautiful ballet princess!

Okay, that's all for now.
More pictures coming soon!

Erkie is here!!!

Remember this?
It's me on my very first birthday - the day I was born.

And, now, introducing...
My baby brother, Luke! (He has a real name now!)

Here are some interesting things about my brother and me:
I was born at 39 weeks, 5 days. 2 days early.
Luke was born at 39 weeks, 2 days. 5 days early.
(We both were due on March 13th.)

I was born on 3-11-08.
Luke was born on 3-08-11.

Luke and I were both 19 inches long when we were born.

I am so happy my brother is here.
I am a super great big sister and an awesome helper!
Luke likes to sleep a lot, but if he cries, I run super fast to turn on some music or sing him a song and he stops crying. I love to hold him and talk to him. My mommy says that she doesn't know what she would do without my help!

More pictures coming soon!

3rd Birthday!

We celebrated my 3rd birthday a week early this year because we weren't sure when my little brother was going to arrive.

First, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. I had lots of fun with Grandma, Grammy, Grampa, Daddy, and Mommy. It was super crowded, but we ate pizza and played lots of fun games.

Then we went to Honey and Pop's house for my Princess Party. I loved my Rapunzel cake. I picked it out of the book at the bakery all by myself!

I got to dress up like a princess for my party.

Everyone else had to dress up like a princess or a prince for my party, too!

Finally, it was time for cake and ice cream!

I made a wish and blew out my candles!

I had so much fun on my party day.
That much fun made me a very tired THREE year old girl!
